From Waste to Worth: The Business Case for CO2 Utilisation

CO2 was long treated as a waste stream, something to be managed, stored or sold on at the margins. However that is now changing. The EU and US has given carbon capture and utilisation a role in new legislation, and developers are looking at turning captured CO2 into fuels, chemicals and building materials.

Yet while the policy framework is somewhat in place, it remains strict and unclear. Some routes, from CO2-based fuels for aviation and shipping to chemicals and mineralisation in construction materials, are moving towards commercial reality, while others remain stuck at the investment decision. Capture and purification costs, energy inputs and the availability of committed buyers all shape which projects get built and which stall.

In this gasworld webinar, sponsored by Salof, we’ll look at the business case for CO2 utilisation, the markets, costs and rules that decide whether captured CO2 can move from waste to worth.
